Trust No One When It Comes To Fake Profiles

I hope you have never stumbled upon a fake profile with your pictures in it... But there are thousands of people who did... If your pictures are used in profile with fake name and other profile elements just ignore it and report it to social network administration... You might also offer them to send scanned ID or some other private document as proof that you are real person.

However, if fake profile you stumbled upon impersonates you (using your pictures, your name, your birthday, city you live in, company you work for, etc) you might want to try and discover who did it first, and report profile to admins later... In this case, like title of this article stated - Trust No One, and i really mean this !!!

There were lots of cases on the Internet and in news that friends, classmates, partners, even parents and family members created fake profiles in order to destroy someone's reputation in act of revenge because of something happened in past... Well known is case of husband who created fake Facebook profile of his wife and used it to ruin her public reputation before divorcing trial... There were many cases when children created fake profiles of their classmates, sometimes for fun and sometimes for revenge...

If you decide to find out who created fake profile of you it can be time consuming and might end up with failure... But, if you have will to do it - it might be worth a shot... If you manage to discover who did it, you can sue him/her , and even more important - you'll know who should disappear from your life asap...

1. Try to contact social network administration and get IP addresses used for logging in to your fake profile.
 - If you manage to get it, use some online service for finding IP address location like Whatismyipaddress.com
 - Among other useful information, Whatismyipaddress will show you ISP (Internet Service Provider) that uses that IP address... With this information you can visit local ISP company and ask them to check out if someone has that IP address assigned to him/her... if person you're looking for pays for unique static IP address you'll know who it is !!!!! However, if person uses dynamic IP address you might ask staff in ISP offices if there's some other way they can help you to find who uses that IP...
 - If person you're searching for has the same ISP and lives in same city like you, i advice you to match their IP address with yours... If they match, you might consider someone in your house to do it all... Like i said - trust no one... To find out what's your IP address use Myipaddress.com

2. Make a list of people close to you, the more the better... Why people close to you? Because if someone used your accurate personal info he/she is probably pretty close to you...
 - Now, start hanging up with ppl from list, one by one... And start checking updates on your fake profile and times when they were published... If update was posted in time you were out with some person it's obvious he/she wasn't the one you're looking for... Keep doing it until you get bored or lose motivation... or both :)

None of these methods posted can guarantee success, but are rather ideas what i would do if my profile was copied... There are big chances you won't find scammer, but in case you do - my God, you will feel AWESOME :))) and you'll be very very proud of yourself - this one i can guarantee...
